The Operational Challenge

The client managed over 45,000 product SKUs across 3 warehouses. Orders were historically taken over chaotic telephone calls, WhatsApp voice notes, and paper order sheets. Dealers frequently ordered out-of-stock items, pricing disputes arose due to volatile USD/LBP exchange rates, and sales representatives spent hours checking physical warehouse shelves to confirm stock availability.

The Quantology Tech Solution

Quantology Tech designed and built an enterprise-grade, mobile-responsive B2B web application using Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js. The platform features sub-second catalog search across 45,000 items, custom dealer price tiers, dynamic real-time exchange rate calculation, and two-way live synchronization with the client's internal ERP. Dealers can now build complex orders, view back-order status, download instant pro-forma invoices, and submit orders 24/7 on mobile devices.

System Architecture & Technical Design

High-concurrency Next.js frontend leveraging Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR) and Edge caching via Cloudflare CDN. The backend is engineered in Node.js/Express with connection-pooled PostgreSQL and a Redis caching layer for session management and price matrices. Meilisearch is integrated as an in-memory search engine delivering sub-100ms typo-tolerant search across 45,000 parts.

Engineering Implementation & Rollout

Executed over 10 weeks across 4 agile development sprints: Sprint 1 cleansed and normalized 45,000 legacy ERP records into a relational schema; Sprint 2 built real-time bi-directional synchronization webhooks with the client's internal ERP; Sprint 3 developed the responsive Next.js frontend with tier-based pricing and dynamic currency conversion; Sprint 4 conducted closed beta testing with 15 premier wholesale dealers prior to full regional rollout.

Performance Benchmarks & Security Hardening

Operational Performance: Achieved a 99/100 Core Web Vitals score on both mobile and desktop. Average initial page load is 0.6 seconds. Complex catalog queries across 45,000 items resolve in under 120 milliseconds even during high-traffic morning ordering windows.

Security & Data Governance: Enforced TLS 1.3, strict HTTP Security Headers (HSTS, CSP), CSRF validation on all mutating routes, and bcrypt-hashed credentials with JWT authentication stored in HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict secure cookies.

Field Engineering Lessons Learned

Wholesale dealers frequently placed orders from warehouse basements with degraded 3G/4G connectivity. Implementing service worker offline caching and draft order persistence ensured dealers never lost cart contents during sudden network drops, improving checkout completion by 44%.

Measurable Outcomes

  • Over 60% of wholesale orders transitioned entirely to self-service digital ordering within the first 90 days.
  • Catalog search latency dropped from over 8 seconds on the legacy system to under 120 milliseconds.
  • Order errors due to pricing discrepancies or out-of-stock items reduced by 91%.
  • Sales representatives shifted their focus from manual order-taking to acquiring new dealer accounts, resulting in 28% year-over-year revenue expansion.
“Our dealers love the speed of this platform. Even over spotty mobile internet connections in remote warehouses, the app searches 45,000 parts instantly. Quantology Tech's technical execution has been flawless.”
